Please join us as we once again immerse ourselves in the timeless, devotional story of the Ramayana. This year we will celebrate Navaratri from Sunday, September 29th to Tuesday, October 8th. As is our tradition, beginning on Sunday, the 29th we will hold daily morning Pujas to Sri Ram at the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple at 7:30 am immediately following morning Arati.
The morning Pujas will last approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. Evening recitals of Ram’s story will be held for 9 nights. These readings will be sponsored by various community members in their homes, at the CB, Cafe, or at the Temple. Some of these events will take place from 7:15 to 8:30 pm. Some will take place at the Temple before evening Arati.
On Tuesday, October 8th Arati will begin at 5:30pm. Following Arati we will convene in the Bay View parking lot for Vijaya Dasami, our ‘final battle’ with Ravana. Everyone will have the opportunity to shoot an arrow into Ravana’s effigy after which the Demon King will be demolished, symbolizing our victory in overcoming negativities.
Jai Sita Ram! Jai Hanuman!!!
